INTRUSEC CLOSES $5 MILLION IN SERIES A FUNDING

Atlanta, GA - April 13, 2004 - Intrusec, a provider of network security software and a pioneer in continuous network change detection software for threat and vulnerability management, today announced closing $5 million in its first round of institutional funding. JK&B Capital, a venture capital firm based in Chicago with $900 million under management, provided the funding. This financing will fund the growth of the company and enable them to expand their product and solution development, as well as enhance their marketing and sales activities.

"We look closely at the experience and track record of management teams," said Tasha Seitz, a partner at JK&B Capital and recently appointed board member of Intrusec. "We're confident that we have invested in a team that understands the depth and breadth of the security market, and we are excited about their flagship product, Intrusec CM, as well as other products and solutions they are currently developing." Tom Neustaetter, also a partner at JK&B and Intrusec board member, added, "Enterprises are at a crossroads, struggling to cope with the pace of attacks and meet regulatory compliance mandates. Intrusec CM gives enterprises the information baseline they need to repair the deficiencies in their current environments and enables them to meet ongoing regulatory challenges."

Intrusec was founded by David J. Meltzer, a former developer for Internet Security Systems; and, former founder and CTO of Sonicity. David currently serves as CTO for Intrusec. Other executive team members include Marc Winn, CEO. Winn brings 19 - plus years of sales experience and over a decade of technology sales management and two prior CEO assignments to Intrusec, as well as a proven track record in enterprise security products. Mark Zwecker joined Intrusec in September of 2003 as Chief Financial Officer. Mark has over twenty years experience advising and providing financial oversight to high technology start-up companies in Georgia, both as part of Georgia Institute of Technology's Advanced Technology Development Center and as an independent consultant.

"The ever increasing need for change detection and management makes us very optimistic about the size of our addressable market and we are enthusiastic about the accelerating the next phase of our growth," said Marc Winn, CEO of Intrusec. "With JK&B Capital, we have found a team player that combines experienced venture capital investors with significant security expertise."

Intrusec was founded in January 2002 on the principle that rapidly changing networks need to be monitored, proactively and continuously, to find changes and new vulnerabilities, as they appear. Intrusec's initial product, Intrusec CM supports continuous monitoring of up to several thousand devices from a single centralized point on a network and operates entirely as an agent-less network client. Geared toward enterprise customers, Intrusec CM version 2.0 is currently in beta.

About Intrusec
Intrusec was founded in January 2002 on the principle customers need a different kind of visibility into the security posture of their networks. Intrusec's CM software uses a unique Differential Detection Engine to continuously identify and catalog changes to the customer's network, and the assets that make up that network, identifying new and/or absent hosts, as well as the specific changes to those hosts. Intrusec CM correlates those findings with market-leading scanning tools and intrusion detection systems to ascertain the risk level of the asset, and the risk exposure of the network.
